PATRA WATANA, DMD., has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the Denver Metro area for 30 years and specializes in providing high quality dental care to infants, toddlers, adolescents, and special needs children. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before completing her dental degree at Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey. Dr. Watana received her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. Active in the community, Dr. Watana volunteers through Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) and Give Kids a Smile Day. She talks at elementary schools, volunteers at health fairs, and has devoted many weekends to softball games and swim meets when her kids were growing up.
For six years, Dr. Watana taught as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She has hospital privileges at The Children’s Hospital where she performs cases under general anesthesia. Dr. Watana is involved in organized dentistry as a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry among other organizations.
Dr. Watana has been selected by her peers as one of Denver’s Top Pediatric Dentists by 5280 Magazine every year since the magazine started the recognition in 2008.
Dr. Watana met her husband, Dr. Mark Iritani, a specialist in orthodontics, at Eastman Dental Center. Together they have a practice in the Denver Tech Center. They have two children, Matthew and Megan, who are both studying dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Watana enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and biking.
