Bruce R. Dunn
Bruce R. Dunn, DDS earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Chemistry from Adams State College in 1965 and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1969.
Dr. Dunn is Past President of the Colorado Dental Association and received the Colorado Dental Association Distinguished Service Award in 2003. He enjoys the practice of comprehensive Dentistry with his son, Dr. Matthew Dunn. Their practice includes extensive experience with complex restorative dentistry, esthetics, (TMD), implants, general dentistry.
Dr. Dunn enjoys lecturing, teaching and consulting and has been a visiting faculty member at the L. D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. He has served the American Dental Association as a member of the Council on Ethics, Bylaws, and Judicial Affairs. Dr. Dunn has been honored by Fellowship in the American Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentists. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists which are honorary organizations.
Dr. Dunn is a Past President of the Dentists Professional Liability Trust for the State of Colorado and volunteers for the Colorado Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. He is an active member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. In addition, he is a past member of the American Equilibration Society.
Dr. Dunn is married, enjoys many outdoor hobbies and family activities and also follows his daughter’s career as a paleobotanist.
Matthew T. Dunn
MATTHEW T. DUNN, D.D.S., received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at Pomona College in 1992, his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University School of Dentistry in 1999, and then joined the Cody Dental Group upon graduation.
Dr. Dunn has served on the Medical Services Board and Dental Advisory Board for the State of Colorado, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Dental Lifeline Network. He is a member of the Denver Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and has received additional education in occlusion and aesthetic dentistry from the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dr. Dunn is an active member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He has also served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA) and was for several years the Editor of The Articulator , the journal of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. He has written on dental topics for publications including the Chicago Tribune and the Washington Times . He has been honored with the Pierre Fauchard Academy Journalism Award for his contributions.
Dr. Dunn has performed volunteer dental work in Africa and South America with the International Medical Relief non-profit organization.
Dr. Dunn has been appointed to the Colorado State House of Representatives for House District 38, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Leadership Program of the Rockies. He has also enjoyed working as a weekend talk radio host since 2004.
Dr. Dunn is married and has three young children. He speaks Spanish and pursues interests in mountain climbing, backcountry skiing, soccer and guitar. He enjoys reading and the study of Colorado history. He also enjoys practicing the art and science of dentistry with his father, Dr. Bruce Dunn.
K. Lee Kuhlke
K. LEE KUHLKE, D.D.S., M.S., is a Colorado native from Lakewood, Colorado. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968, he attended the University of Colorado in pre-med studies. In 1975, he graduated from Northwestern University Dental School as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
After dental school, Dr. Kuhlke attended post-graduate studies at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry where he received a Prosthodontic Specialty Certificate (crowns, bridges and dentures) in 1977. Concurrently, he was enrolled in the University of Iowa Graduate College and was awarded a Master of Science degree in dental materials where he published an original research thesis in 1977.
Dr. Kuhlke was an Assistant Professor at the Baltimore College of Dentistry teaching fixed and removable advanced Prosthodontics. During his tenure at the University of Iowa, Dr. Kuhlke developed a conservative resin retained fixed prosthesis and published the study in 1977. This was further developed at Baltimore and later became known as the Maryland Bridge that is still used worldwide.
When dental implants were introduced to this country in 1982, Dr. Kuhlke became certified in the restorations of implants and has lectured internationally. He has restored over 6,000 implants and is recognized as an authority on implant restorations. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration in addition to the American Dental Association and Colorado Dental Association.
Denver’s “5280 Best Dentists” has included Dr. Kuhlke each year since it was published.
Dr. Kuhlke is married to his wife Amy, a UAL flight attendant for 46 years. They have three grown children, an engineer, a teacher and a registered nurse. He is a private pilot and enjoys racing gliders during the summer and is a ski instructor at Vail in the winter.
PATRA WATANA, DMD., has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the Denver Metro area for 30 years and specializes in providing high quality dental care to infants, toddlers, adolescents, and special needs children. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before completing her dental degree at Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey. Dr. Watana received her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. Active in the community, Dr. Watana volunteers through Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) and Give Kids a Smile Day. She talks at elementary schools, volunteers at health fairs, and has devoted many weekends to softball games and swim meets when her kids were growing up.
For six years, Dr. Watana taught as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She has hospital privileges at The Children’s Hospital where she performs cases under general anesthesia. Dr. Watana is involved in organized dentistry as a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry among other organizations.
Dr. Watana has been selected by her peers as one of Denver’s Top Pediatric Dentists by 5280 Magazine every year since the magazine started the recognition in 2008.
Dr. Watana met her husband, Dr. Mark Iritani, a specialist in orthodontics, at Eastman Dental Center. Together they have a practice in the Denver Tech Center. They have two children, Matthew and Megan, who are both studying dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Watana enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and biking.
Jeremy B. Lowy
JEREMY LOWY, D.M.D., M.S.D., attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree, general dentistry doctoral training, and 3-year specialty residency in surgical periodontics and dental implant training. He graduated from dental school near the top of his class. In his residency, he also received a Master’s degree in the Clinical Science of Dentistry earning him both a DMD and an MSD. He took the final step to become a Board-Certified Diplomate in the American Board of Periodontology in 2017, the highest honor a periodontist can achieve. He takes utmost pride in learning the latest minimally invasive techniques, and keeping current with the latest developments in periodontics, dental implants, and prosthetics. He has conducted patient-centered research which focused on ways to minimize bone loss around dental implants utilizing certain prosthetic components ultimately making him an expert in the subject of “platform-switching” (ask for more information). His results are published in one of the most esteemed periodontal and prosthetic journals.
Dr. Lowy evaluated several practices around the United States before choosing the Cody Dental Group. Richard L. Myers
RICHARD L. MYERS, D.D.S., has practiced dentistry for over 40 years. His dental degree is from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. His undergraduate degree is from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. Upon completion of his dental training, he served a dental residency at the VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Myers had a dual appointment of teaching at the University of Michigan Dental School as well as a full-time staff dentist. After six years, he moved to Toledo, Ohio to become chief operations of the Toledo VA Outpatient Clinic. He had dual appointments of teaching and practicing at the University of Michigan, Chief of Operations at Toledo VA Outpatient Clinic, many Mission trips outside the US, and 22 years of private practice in Boulder, CO. He has been with CDG since 2018.
In 1983, Dr. Myers began private practice in Sylvania, Ohio. In 1996, he and his family moved to Boulder, Colorado to once again set up a private dental practice. For the past 22 years, Dr. Myers has practiced dentistry in Boulder, Colorado with an emphasis on restorative dentistry.
Dr. Myers continued his education through the prestigious Pankey Institute. As a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, he completed its requirement of a minimum of 500 hours of continuing dental education. Dr. Myers is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Boulder County Dental Society and Denver Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Myers has been able to fulfill a unique vision of dentistry. He has participated in dental missions, programs which bring his dental services free of charge to people in countries without sufficient access to dental care. Past trips have included trips to Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Haiti.

Ping-Ping F. Lucero
Ping-Ping F. Lucero, D.M.D., graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed further dental post graduate training through a general practice residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Lucero practiced for several years in the NY metropolitan area prior to joining the team at the Cody Dental Group.
She is an Invisalign Preferred Provider and has received further training for Cerec same day crowns. She has also completed courses to be certified in laser dentistry. Dr. Lucero is a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society and the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Lucero is fluent in Shanghainese and can converse in Mandarin. She has spent time volunteering at health clinics in Chinese communities.
In her spare time, Dr. Lucero enjoys yoga, tennis, and collecting vinyl records. Her favorite bands include Queen, Fleetwood Mac, and Hall & Oates. She loves the natural beauty of Colorado and exploring scenic areas with her husband and daughter.
Charles F Reed
CHARLES F. REED, D.D.S., M.S. has made a career of “Creating Smiles for A Lifetime.” After graduating from Loyola University in Chicago in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1982, received his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate in 1984 and his Master of Science Degree in 1991 from Loyola University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Reed has served on the Board of Directors and as Membership Education Committee Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists. He has also served as the TMJ Consultant to the Berwyn Magnetic Resonance Center in Berwyn, Illinois, and co-authored the textbook titled Magnetic Resonance of the Temporomandibular Joint, published in 1990. Dr. Reed practiced General Dentistry for two years in Elk Grove, Illinois, prior to joining the Cody Dental Group as an Orthodontic Specialist in 1987. He also provides orthodontic services to the southeast Aurora community through his office on Smoky Hill Road.

Mark K. Shimoda
MARK K. SHIMODA, D.D.S., earned his D.D.S degree from the Temple University School of Dentistry in 1975. He then earned his Certificate in Periodontics from Temple University, School of Graduate Periodontics in 1977.
Dr. Shimoda accepted a full-time teaching position at the University of Colorado, School of Dentistry, Division of Periodontics. In 1982 he went into full-time private practice. While in private practice, he continued to provide services as a teacher at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.
Dr. Shimoda has been an active member and officer in the Rocky Mountain Society of Periodontists and the Colorado Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He has been a long-time member of the Columbine Periodontal Study Club, Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, Colorado Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Shimoda believes strongly in educating patients concerning the nature of their dental and periodontal problems, their treatment options, and helping patients arrive at the best treatment plan for their particular circumstances.

David M. Singer
DAVID M. SINGER, D.D.S., graduated from Tulane University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2001. Dr. Singer practiced in Highlands Ranch, Colorado prior to joining the Cody Dental Group in 2002.
He has received advanced training from the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida, and from the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. Dr. Singer is a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society and the Denver Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Singer has devoted considerable time towards charitable programs in oral health care and Education. His efforts have helped rural communities both here at home as well as abroad in South America and Southeast Asia.
A native of Colorado, Dr. Singer enjoys the outdoors and traveling with his wife and two boys: Carden and Zachary.

Keith L. Small (New Patients by Referral Only)
KEITH L. SMALL, D.M.D., received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.
A native of Kansas, Dr. Small worked for eleven years as a mechanical engineer at the General Electric Company Aircraft Jet Engine Division in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked on jet engine projects for the F-104, B-58, F-4 and the 2000 mph XB-70. He was on active duty for three years in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Small is the senior member of the Cody Dental Group. For seven years he was a member of the Visiting Faculty at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida.
Dr. Small served for nine years on the Peer Review committees for the state and local dental societies.
He was the Mentor to the Centennial Dental Study Club from 1995 until 2007. He served as a member of the Advisory and Leadership Board of Directors of the University of Colorado at Denver, Health Sciences Center School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of Denver Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
From 1983 to 1993, Dr Small was the principal investigator of two electron microscopy research projects at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. This research was published in 1987 and 1992.
Dr. Small has been honored by being awarded Fellowship in both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He is also a member in The Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentists. In 1988 Dr. Small was elected to membership in the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Small enjoys music, opera, aviation and basketball.

Douglas W. Smith
DOUGLAS W. SMITH, DDS, grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1986 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Science with a Minor in Sociology. In 1990 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from The University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. Upon graduation he joined the Cody Dental Group and became a partner in 1993.
From 1992-2000, Dr. Smith completed the curriculum in occlusion and comprehensive Dentistry from the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. He also has received advanced training in occlusion and TMJ disorder from The Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study and The Piper Education and Research Center in St. Petersburg, Florida.
In 2004, Dr. Smith was elected into membership in the Denver Academy of Restorative Dentistry. Throughout his career, he has volunteered his time and services to worthy organizations such as: the Colorado Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped (CFDH), Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND), and the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Doug is married to Annette and they have two boys, Devin and Braden. Outside of dentistry he enjoys hiking, skiing, mountain biking, attending sporting events, and travel.

James H. Stambaugh
"AMES H. STAMBAUGH, D.D.S., received his Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology in 1973 from the University of Colorado. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 1983 and completed a General Practice Residency program in 1984 at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
A Denver native, Dr. Stambaugh practiced general dentistry 29 years in Denver prior to joining Cody Dental Group in 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association and Metropolitan Denver Dental Association. He has attained Life Member status of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society and is a member of Elevate Dental Study Club (a Seattle Study Club). Dr. Stambaugh is a dental representative on the Medical Advisory Board for the Cherry Creek School District.
Dr. Stambaugh enjoys golf, fly-fishing, skiing and photography. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Denver Southeast. He is a board member of the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation and coordinates Rotary’s volunteer activities at Ruby Hill Elementary. He has four grown children and seven grandchildren all located in the metropolitan area.
Dr. Stambaugh was previously a clinical instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.
